We look forward to seeing you at the 2025 BCCPAC Conference & Annual General Meeting, held on the traditional and unceded territory of the Lheidli T'enneh Nation and online. The 2025 Conference & AGM will be held in a hybrid format, with the in-person event at the University of Northern BC in Prince George May 23-25, and virtual participation available through an online platform. Members will have the opportunity to participate in sessions, vote, and engage, whether attending in person or online.
This two-part event brings together parent leaders from across BC to learn, connect, and advocate for strong public education.
BCCPAC Conference – May 23
Open to all parents, caregivers, and PAC/DPAC leaders, the Conference will feature engaging sessions on key issues in public education, practical training for parent leaders, and opportunities to connect with others who share a passion for advocacy and parent engagement.
BCCPAC Annual General Meeting – May 24-25
The AGM is an important opportunity for member PACs and DPACs to hear about the annual activities and funds of the organization, to elect Board members, and to vote on the resolutions which shape BCCPAC’s advocacy priorities. The AGM (online or in person) is available to registered delegates from member PACs and DPACs in good standing.
With limited in-person space available, we are excited to offer a full hybrid experience, allowing members to participate either in person or online. Whether you’re attending the Conference, the AGM, or both, you’ll be able to engage fully in discussions, ask questions, and connect with other parent leaders from across BC.
Hybrid Format
This year, the Conference and AGM will be offered as hybrid events. The in-person location is Prince George, and the event will also be accessible through an online event platform. This platform allows attendees to engage with each other virtually and participate in all Conference and AGM sessions. While online and in-person engagement are distinct experiences, we are committed to ensuring that meaningful participation is available to everyone, whether attending in person or virtually, and we know that an opportunity to attend virtually will be welcomed by many members, based on feedback received over the past several years.
Online Voting
This year we’ll also be using an online voting platform for the AGM elections and resolutions. Whether you are attending in person or virtually, the voting platform will be where members set up delegate credentials, and where they vote. More details on these two online platforms and how to use them will be available closer to the event dates.
Equity in Representation
The decision to host this year’s event in Prince George reflects our commitment to equitable representation across the province. Members from northern and some rural areas have long raised concerns about feeling left out of opportunities due to their distance from the Lower Mainland. BCCPAC serves all districts and schools in BC, and rotating the location of major events ensures that all regions have the opportunity to participate in person at some point. Offering the ability to attend virtually ensures that all members can participate in some way every year.
Planning and Member Input
Feedback collected from members over the past several years was an important consideration in selecting Prince George as this year’s location. Looking ahead, the Board is committed to developing annual planning further in advance and creating more opportunities to gather member input and ensure alignment with members’ needs and preferences.
Offering a hybrid event, and rotating event locations are part of our efforts to ensure that we represent all PACs and DPACs equitably, regardless of location. We’re excited to see you there!
