Event Description:

This session will help parents, PACs, and DPACs understand what to do when concerns arise and how to navigate advocacy pathways with clarity and confidence. Participants will learn how to determine the appropriate level to bring a concern to (school, district, or provincial) and gain practical tools for communicating effectively throughout the process.

Participants will learn:

• When to appeal to the Superintendent or Board of Education
• When an issue must go outside the district (Section 11 Appeals, BCTRB processes, etc.)
• What Section 177 is and what parents should expect
• How DPAC supports district-level systemic change
• Best practices for documenting concerns and engaging constructively with schools

This informative and empowering workshop is open to all parents, PACs, and DPACs.
