The Implementation of Modified Letter Grades

That amendments and additions made to the Ministerial Order 191/94, Student Progress Report Order, number 9, subsections (3), (4), and (6) by stating student progress reports will contain modified letter grades. The modified letter grades will encompass only students on a modified program, who previously would not be eligible for letter grades. An example of a modified letter grade recorded on the progress report is Science 10 “**B”. The double asterisk would indicate the student has an Individual Education Program and the program was modified. A student on modified program will not be following the expected learning objectives in the curriculum for the course or subject grade. The modified letter grades demonstrate an accountability of the progress achieved, as mandated by the Individual Education Program goals.
