About Us

Education Advisory Council (EAC)

The Council advises the Minister of Education on overall policies of the education system, including: curriculum and assessment; the teaching profession; system governance; and finance.

The Education Advisory Council is composed of representatives of all major stakeholders in K-12 education. The number of members is not specified in legislation, but is traditionally less than thirty. The Council is chaired by a representative of the Ministry of Education. In addition to the appointed Ministry of Education members, stakeholder organizations are also represented on the Council.
